The Markham Journal
Left Wing, Right Wing, Wingnuts and just plain nuts.

Healthcare has taken center stage in this first year of the Obama presidency, and we have
seen all sorts of behavior from politicians and pundits alike.

Outright lying has taken the place of civilized debate.  Heckling the president in a session.
Talking heads talking out of their minds with deception, half-information, and odd, fantastic
and wrong interpretations of HR 3200, the Health care reform act.

To some of these people I have to keep saying, what are you doing for all the uninsured
people?

I never get an answer to that, though.

Uninsured people are not bad, they're not lazy, and they certainly don't deserve to DIE by
the thousands each year because they are uninsured.

It's not just that they're not buying insurance.  Sometimes they can't because an insurer
won't insure them.  It's that little thing called 'pre-existing conditions.'  You can be denied a
policy by an insurer, and be left out in the cold, even if you have the money to pay for an
exceedingly high cost policy.  It may not matter if you have a pre-existing condition.

That plus a tanked economy that is only recovering in the upper echelons.  The rest of us
are looking around at the closed stores, the unemployed friends and family, and saying,
"What recovery? Where?"

What have the Fox Gnus folks EVER done for the uninsured of this country? EVER?

Nothing. And that's where we still stand right now, until a public option is viable and working
in the U.S. Because if we can't take care of our own people, we have no business telling any
other countries how to run their show.
